New Guitar Day December

December 25, 2018 - Reading time: 7 minutes

Welcome one and all. Hope everyone is enjoying this Christmas Day. I wanted to post some cool news about a Christmas surprise I woke up to this morning.

Here we are, Christmas morning. My wife, mother in law and I began the traditional gift exchanging and opening of gifts. Everyone is happy, having a good time. All the gifts were laid out on a big fold up table in the livingroom. My wife had a blanket folded up on the side of the table. After the exchanging ended, my wife asked to remove the blanket and this is what I see underneath.

A Peavey Featherlight guitar case. Its basically a cross between and hardcase and a gig bag. Very nice too. She then tells me to open it and look at the lavish inside.. and then I see this:

I was like OMG!!! And RG!!!! She knows, like most people know, that I love Ibanez guitars. I have a couple oof Ibanez's guitars from ther Gio series (GRX45 and GRG121dx). Both are excellent guitars in my opinion, even for budget guitars. Back to the RG..

She bought me an Ibanez RGAT-621-TGF!!! Also, when she ordered this and picked it up from the shop, she had it restrung with my strings of choice: D'Addario .10-.46 strings!! And if that was not enough, in the compartments of the case, a strap and and a sapre set of strings (D'Addario .10-.46 as well).

Here is a shot of me Christmas morning in the front yard with my new axe. The lighting outside was awesome.

After tuning this axe up and plugging it into my Line 6 Spider V, I was blown away at the sound of the pick ups. The DiMarzio pick ups sound amazing. The neck is so smooth and "fast". The guitar is weighted perfectly. I can forsee myself spending much time with this guitar. I also wrote some new riffs minutes after playing it.
